About Eric Eric Negrete is deeply connected to Victorville, with a strong dedication to making the city safer, stronger, and more vibrant. With experience on the City Council and a passion for service, Eric is the right choice for District 5.

Eric Negrete grew up in the High Desert, moving to Victorville in 1985. He attended Hook Junior High and Victor Valley High School before his family relocated to London, where he completed his high school education.

Returning to Los Angeles to attend university, Eric never anticipated coming back to the High Desert. However, his journey brought him back, and he has been a dedicated member of the Victorville community ever since.

Eric served on the Victorville City Council from 2014 to 2018, where he worked tirelessly to enhance public safety, promote economic growth, and improve the quality of life for all residents. His time on the council reinforced his commitment to the community, providing him with valuable insights into the city’s needs and priorities.

Living in both Los Angeles and Victorville has given Eric a unique perspective on the importance of community and public safety. In Victorville, he values the sense of camaraderie and support among neighbors. Eric is passionate about ensuring that all residents feel represented, particularly the Hispanic community and other diverse populations. He believes in focusing on non-partisan issues that directly impact the quality of life in Victorville, steering clear of divisive topics that do not affect the city’s governance.

For the past 17 years, Eric has worked at Fort Irwin, initially as a project manager, helping with various construction projects. His commitment and expertise have led to his current role as a program manager, where he will soon oversee operations at three bases, including Yuma, Arizona, and another Army base. His career at Fort Irwin has been marked by a dedication to improving infrastructure and supporting military operations.

Eric’s personal journey includes overcoming significant challenges 15 years ago, a transformative period that shaped his dedication to helping others. Recognizing the importance of giving back, Eric volunteers and donates to the homeless shelter on Amargosa Road. His commitment to community service is further evidenced by his years of coaching Little League, where he fostered teamwork and mentorship among young athletes. In his spare time, Eric enjoys playing golf and being with his family.

Eric’s blend of professional expertise, personal resilience, and community dedication positions him as a candidate committed to making Victorville a safer, stronger, and more inclusive city.
