District 5, Victorville City Council
Balancing City Needs Planning strategically for the future ensures that Victorville remains a great place to live, work, and play.

Although our city budget is in good shape, the rapid growth of Victorville means we need to expand our services and infrastructure to keep up with the demands of our growing population.

By planning strategically for the future, we can ensure that Victorville remains a great place to live, work, and play.

Vote for me to focus on maintaining and expanding…

Our Financial Health

Our city budget is currently stable, but it’s crucial to manage it wisely to ensure long-term financial health. My approach includes conducting regular financial audits and reviews to ensure transparency and accountability in how funds are spent. Implementing long-term financial planning will prepare us for future growth and ensure the city can continue to provide high-quality services.

Our City Systems

We will prioritize spending on essential services and projects that provide the most benefit to our residents. This involves establishing a schedule for regular inspections and maintenance of roads, bridges, parks, and other public facilities. We will identify and prioritize upgrades for aging infrastructure to prevent failures and improve efficiency. Encouraging community input and participation in maintaining our public spaces will foster a sense of ownership and pride among residents.

Our City Services

Our city’s rapid growth has outpaced the services we currently provide. I propose taking a proactive approach, where we’ll plan and build neighborhoods designed for future growth. We will conduct comprehensive needs assessments to identify gaps in current services and expand services such as public transportation, healthcare, and recreational facilities to meet the needs of our growing population. Ensuring that new developments are sustainable and equipped with the necessary infrastructure to support future residents is also crucial.

Our Infrastructure

As Victorville grows, so does the need for robust infrastructure. Areas like Verde Street suffer from flooding during heavy rainfall. Addressing this issue will involve conducting thorough engineering studies to understand the root causes of the flooding and implementing necessary infrastructure upgrades, such as improved drainage systems, to prevent future flooding. Engaging the community in the planning process will ensure their needs and concerns are addressed.
