District 5, Victorville City Council
Quality of Life Developing innovative ways to revitalize the quality of life for our communities, from events to city parks.

While public safety is a top priority, as a resident I know that there are many different ways to reduce crime without putting more stress on our deputies.

One of the best ways to combat crime is to provide alternatives in the form of a better way of living.

Vote for me to focus on improving…

Our Parks

Our parks are vital to the community’s well-being. I will work to create new parks and improve existing ones, with Hook Park serving as a model for what we can achieve. Well-maintained parks are essential for promoting outdoor activities and providing safe spaces for our children to play. By investing in our parks, we can offer more recreational opportunities, encourage healthy lifestyles, and foster a greater sense of community. This includes adding amenities such as playgrounds, sports facilities, walking trails, and community gardens, making our parks inviting and accessible for all residents.

Our Public Facilities

Our community pool at Doris Davies is no longer sufficient for our growing population. In a city where summer temperatures often hit triple digits, I propose the creation of a new aquatic facility that will provide much-needed recreational opportunities for our residents. This will be a place where families can gather, children can learn to swim, and everyone can enjoy a healthy, active lifestyle.

Our Community Events

The skatepark at Doris Davies has immense potential to become a cultural hub for our youth. I envision it as a place where community events can be hosted, bringing people together and fostering a sense of belonging. By making the skatepark a focal point for positive activities, we can engage our youth and provide them with constructive outlets for their energy and creativity. Additionally, inviting skate companies like Vans and Etnies for sponsorship opportunities can further enhance the park’s appeal and provide funding for maintenance and improvements.

Our Cultural Centers

Graffiti and mural art are popular, and we can harness this creativity by hosting art competitions at our city parks and events. Instead of simply waiting for inevitable tagging, let’s turn it into something positive and creative. Local artists can showcase their talents, and the winning pieces can be displayed in our parks and city centers, adding a unique and dynamic aesthetic to the space. We can organize events such as skate competitions, music festivals, and family fun days to attract visitors and create a vibrant community space.
